[Highlights] Top winning whippet male in Finland 1992-1993, The stud dog of the year in Finland 1993-1994. Several wins with his progeny-classes.

[Great showdog] Scotty was imported to Finland by Heljä Manninen, who owned him from the start. Scotty´s success started already at a very young age, and his first bigger win was in the European winner show in Helsinki 1991, where he became European Junior winner.
The years -92 and -93 were really good for Scotty, he was the most winning male in Finland, 2 years in a row.
Heljä took Scotty also to some shows abroad, like to the European winner -show in Budapest 1993, where Scotty was BOB. On the same trip he got the needed cacib´s to his Int. ch. -title. What happened was that on their way to Hungary Heljä took a little trip to an int. show in Poland, where Scotty got a cacib too.
Later on when Heljä applied for the title from the FCI to Scotty, it appeared that the organizers of the Polish show had lost all the results and papers concerning Scotty (and yes, for a few other dogs as well), so Scotty couldn´t get his title approved. Well, what can you do except for to try to get that one, "missing" cacib from elsewhere..
In the spring of 1996 Scotty received that cacib from Estonia. We waited anxiously for the cacib-confirmation to arrive by post, but after a while it started to seem that it wouldn´t come. Not again, we thought, and Marjut started to call to the Estonian kennel-club to investigate what had happened. Well, believe it or not; Scotty´s results were somehow lost! Sure, I always knew I wasn´t born under the luckiest stars, but this was just too much. Luckily, the kennel-club was reasonable, and asked us to fax the copy of the critic -paper, which we did, and a year after the show the confirmation came! So, once again we applied for the title from FCI, and finally it came! He became an international champion, and we received a diploma to prove it, so it must be for real this time!
So what if it took 3 years more than needed, but hey, better late than never, right?!
In 2000, Heljä received a big envelope by post, and on top of the envelope it said that it was from FCI. When she opened it, she couldn´t believe her eyes: it was a diploma for Scotty for his Intenational Ch. -title; with the missing cacib from Poland, the application Heljä sent in 1993 was now 7 years later approved! Ok, I don´t want to sound mean, but I have to say that the Polish kennel-club is not the fastest there is..
I don´t know how it even is possible, that one dog can be given the same title twice, but ok, I don´t mind it at all ;)
How many others can say that their dog is a double international champion?! ;)

[Influential stud dog]
There is no doubt that Scotty was one of the most influential stud dogs of his time in Finland, and his inheritage lives on in his numerous offsprings (and their offspring) even today. He mated his first bitch before he was 1 year old and the last one when he was 9 years. In between he has produced all together around 90 puppies.

[Perfect companion] In 1995 Heljä had to unfortunately find a new home for her dogs and Marjut was given the chance to take Scotty. Very soon she realized, that he was something very exceptional; he was that "once in a lifetime" -dog that some of us are lucky enough to have owned.
Scotty was a perfect companion in so many ways. He was an easy boy at home (except when the girls were in season, he happened to know what to do with the girls, so he was PRETTY excited about that activity..), a great showdog, and a marvellous stud dog. What more can you wish for? Well, health, of course.
Scotty was very healthy, until he became 9 years. He started to have problems with his prostate, which in the end was diagnosed as a tumor, and a bad one. He fell to eternal sleep in November 2000.
After loosing Scotty, Marjut decided not to breed whippets anymore, it would be impossible to get a dog like he was.
The only comfort is Molly, Scotty´s daughter, who is reminding us of his great father.
